Spanish IV

This course is designed as an introduction to the theory and practice of Spanish-to-English translation (as well as English-to-Spanish translation). The emphasis will be on literary translation of short stories, some poetry, and informational texts. Students will be introduced to the practice of transplanting literary texts into English. For the second semester, students will focus on specialized vocabulary that is unique and specific to different professions where there is a demand for Spanish speakers.
