Scholarships

If you filled out the FAFSA® form, you may have been offered grants, work-study, and loans. Before you receive a Direct Loan, you must complete counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN). Before you receive a TEACH Grant, you must complete counseling and sign an Agreement to Serve or Repay (Agreement) each year in which you receive a TEACH Grant.
 
 
 
The California Dream Act allows undocumented students, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients (valid or expired), U Visa holders and students under Temporary Protected Status (TPS), who qualify for a non-resident exemption under Assembly Bill 540 (AB 540), Senate Bill 2000 (SB 2000) and Senate Bill 68 (SB 68), to receive certain types of financial aid such as: private scholarships funded through public universities, state administered financial aid, university grants, community college fee waivers, and Cal Grants.
In addition, the California Dream Act, allows eligible students to pay in-state tuition at any public college in California.
 
This will be the one stop area for all of our scholarships.

Palomar Promise
 

The Palomar Promise is designed to provide first-time college students with access to an affordable higher education and to increase college-going and completion rates in our community.

Our Scholarship Program offers scholarships to graduating high school students in the tri-city area of Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista who are planning on attending a college or trade school.

 

Schools served: Carlsbad High School, El Camino High School, General Raymond Murray High School, Mission Vista High School, New Haven High School, North County Trade Tech High School, Oceanside High School, Rancho Buena Vista High School, Sage Creek High School, and Vista High School.

Several organizations in San Diego County provide scholarship opportunities for students.
 

Applications for NCCSE-sponsored scholarships are now open. The scholarship submission period for new applications for 2024-2025 has a deadline of March 29, 2024.

  1. The Dr. Lynnette Robinson Scholarship for Inclusive Education - For high school seniors who want to pursue a career in special education or a related field. A scholarship award of $1500 for up to 4 years.
  2. The Bob Grundstrom Memorial Scholarship  - For high school seniors who receive special education services. A one-time scholarship award of $1500.
 
TRADE TECH HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
 
Last year we gave over $15,000 away to seniors thanks to the generosity of our supporters.

The Woman’s Club of Vista will once again be awarding scholarships to local high school graduates. North County Trade Tech  will be awarded one- $500.00 scholarship. The criteria for the scholarship is as follows:

 

Criteria ranking for scholarship for alternate high school graduate attending a Community College or Trade School:

 

  1. Must attend an accredited Community College or Trade School
  2. Maintain high GPA
  3. Community Service (tutoring, volunteering)
  4. Leadership
  5. Financial need
