welcome back to now get excited starting out with me I'm a new face at North County Trade Tech High School I'm doing the x is a variable challenge so that means you can call me mix you all are as Google says we pronounce it or you can say I missed you a lot for Mister you'll do whatever you're most comfortable with or explain it to the students basic I'm doing this as preparation for the work place where for me I don't really care what you call me but for a lot of co-workers managers flying lyrics this is all going to be very important so if you or your student would like to practice with me I'm giving you that opportunity so moving on a little bit more about me we've got my educational background and also allergic to Martins I also feel plays a great role in my classrooms as I do everything I can to keep your students interested in the engagement classroom a little bit of my work history I said the banking industry mostly working with Merchant side Bank of America I did 3 years of Quest Diagnostics I've worked a little bit in the medical field and I've spent two projects with tiger hair studios which is it animation and game design company so I also know a lot of people who have done a lot of different things and I loved it their jobs in their careers. All played Doctor students in the classroom let's talk about contacting me so as you can see in the big bold writing there are primary form of contract right now is through my email address AJ l a t i n c t th. Org and unfortunately with a pandemic that's going to be our first line of contact night in Our Stars in a few weeks emails first one right now I don't even check my email while I'm teaching if you ask your students there with me I'm walking around the class I'm helping them out they don't see me behind the computer much except for like typically if you send me an email expect to see it back Play 3 and 5 p.m. after school I do check my email on weekends but a lot of times I'm helping out my family on weekends so I will get back to you as soon as I'm able just know that those are the typical time you'll be expecting to see emails back from me I want to bring up Zoom meetings are still super encouraged if you're not comfortable meeting in person or you know if that's just how we got to do things right now shoot me an e-mail I'd love to meet with every single person. so definitely schedule something with meet up with talk let me know what you know what you want to know about my clothes let me know any concerns you have for your student so I can best accommodate them as needed I want to also bring up that my tutoring Grimes Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15 to 4 p.m. after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays if for whatever reason you or your students can't make that time deal we're going to email me and coming in school early leaving a little later if that's what your student needs to get caught up with stuff I also if what for whatever reason they can't hang around before or after school I can do Zoom meetings with Todd to get us caught up where we need to be I forgot I'm going to tell you generally in my class I'm trying to do it as little computer is possible we do some still but I feel like for tutoring is going to be easier if they can hang out after class and hang out with me in person get stuff done real quick moving right on down I'm teaching three classes at Trade Tech this year the first one I'm going to go over his personal side going I'm going to go over and visit integrated math 3 so if you have a student at the only reason you want to scroll through to the park that is for Frontier kind of talking about certain things across all three without further Ado let's go into personal finance so what personal finance I'm really looking to try and keep it as personal as possible your students Financial how's it going all the way into retirement I'm going to try and hit on everything to possibly come up major life thing so what's some stuff we've already been talkin about sound financial decisions were starting a little bit and just good to see making budgeting is where we're going to be moving into next we're right now we're going to not only just plugged it in for right now if they need to get insurance is all men do their own how can they do that and very sorry what insurance is health insurance has all sorts of things next up we're going to be talking about thanking and also credit unions and the different types of accounts and setups to say how we're going to be talking about it as well taxes huge thing I talk personal finance last year and I had quite a few students who were already working come back to me and say that they were sir but they got more in their tax return because it's not just how to file your taxes hopefully they're going to get back some funds that they can also later on credit why start with those credit cards into those car and Home Loans down the line in addition to the ones on the car in the home we're also going to be talking about your roommate situation how do you get into a situation about this email me if it's not in the group maybe I'll work it in for you so moving right along we're going to go down to business now what we're looking at right now business plan soap is they've already made their own product or service for this class at we're covering right now pricing and all that we're going to be moving in two different types of businesses as well such as the online throw so we're going to be looking at franchises and stuff like that start businesses in right now we're going to be actually moving the one into business plans this week and they're going to do presentations on those as well a lot of things are already excited about that I've been hearing back from from their own we're going to be moving in how to how to manage this business was once we get him setup Powers long the management of taxes and insurance these are all different from the side of the person from the personal side of course I was going to cover so many newer methods of Finance out there for the business is now that we have our online resources so we're going to go over a lot of that stuff to these are just some of the topics that we're going to be covering I will be some more than this and again email me if you have any questions or concerns so we can touch base and find out what's going on last one we've already started going over grass and transformations a lot of them play in the trigonometry we'll talk about statistics at the end so all of these things just really great and huge in many fields and I know a lot is Orbeez still relevant to learn like the computer tell you I am. for the computers do a lot of this stuff and also talk to people with the computer quality check I don't always check what's getting put into them and if it's giving you a correct answer you got co-workers we're all human a lot of problems come from somebody didn't make a conversion and now you have big problems like the whole design fails for like a bridge or something or what are the things that's really hard for me to hear but if you look it up in the true thing people that overdosed in hospitals Club something into the computer and it'll give him this medication and somebody either and put something on the computer not result in loss of the light so what I'm looking for with this is are not expecting your students to be like memorizing all these formulas or whatever to do is really understand the concept Wendy's North Mattox and just knowing you know where they can like look at the levy like okay but this outfit this answer doesn't make sense I want them to be quality control experts in their fields I want them to sit there and go wait a second that's way too big a number way to smaller number why is this number negative you know and they will understand this if they understand the concepts Behind These and just knowing how they work really well so yeah we were doing computation but I want to make it clear burn the formulas input the numbers outfit are there college courses conceptual I really want them to understand sort of the wise and the visualization of these of these formulas and their graphs so that they can when they the real world they're going to be able to be like maybe they can't super fast like the computer put out an answering their head but they can look at that answer and look at what they just did and go. Doesn't make any sense I want to also bring up the district's where statistics is actually one of our Top Field will be touching on that later in the year as well as an underplayed field and it's actually one produces a lot of money if you're not familiar Justice is kind of how people try to predict the future in marketing and if you can say you know we will have to talk about the curb they're talking about like what we predict I don't like this this is a lot of this is what you're looking at for statistics of part of that is all you know how to do it right now so that's something that maybe you can look in the future watching the news and you want to draw your own conclusions you can do a little more of your own enough and being able to look at what they're putting in front of you and go like I said okay yeah I see where they got these numbers. just some stuff to help you out along the way relating it to your personal life relating it to your future that's what we're here for so that's all I got for you today like I said email me page real quick so I can see that one last definitely email me I hope you all have a great back to school night I hope you have a great rest of your night and I hope I get to see you soon all right everybody have a good one
