Another option is to take courses at Palomar or Mira Costa Community Colleges while in high school.  The per unit tuition is waived while enrolled at Trade Tech.  Students are only required to pay the student fees (typically around $25) and purchase or rent any textbook and materials.  This option earns college credit.
