Game Programming is an introductory course into the creation of video games starting from game design and theory of games to development of a culminating Game Project using the Unity game engine. While the course covers programming needed to script and develop games, unlike a traditional programming class the primary emphasis is on the design and impact of games. Students will evaluate the impact of games from historical and societal perspectives, evaluate and apply the aesthetic choices used in creating video games, compare and analyze
the effectiveness of existing games, as well as develop the problem solving skills needed for a career in game programming. Students are introduced to the video game industry and the requirements for successful entry into the field.
