hello my name is Mister guy I teach at 3 to kayal being here for six years and my focus is on computer science digital media game design networking in that regard the purpose of this video is to deliver this information to parents to let them know what kind of classes we have I offer and what information and what Creekland caught in these classes basically if you don't mind I have a slideshow of prepared I'm going to go through them and helps me to to not forget anything and mix. cover everything here we go I'm going to share my screen with you but here as you can see the class that I teach include introduction to digital media digital media one digital media to game Design 1 a game designed to what is courses just so you know that these are all electives and our CTE courses CT basically short Career Technical education meaning all the teachers that teach these classes come from a professional background and this is what they're adult student has to get a city or Ohio great to to pass these classes because the Board of Education in California does not recognize d as a passing grade for CTE courses so that's very important to keep in mind that let's say someone is 6840 sample of 6759 things like that that may not be a d that maybe a f so from ABC all of a sudden you drop two are so keep that in mind by creating 10% of all classes come from school at project 20% is a for assessment test and quizzes and 70% is basically class activity as you can see it is very important for it is too to be engaged to in class activities be involved and do actually what they're supposed to be doing that basically covers the entire passing great frogs even if you didn't have any school at project you didn't take any assessments or if you did all your work during class to get 70% and that's the seat project on the first semester. basically gets distributed to all the other parts probably we have about 25% for assessment and 75% for class activities on the second semester we do have asked why project and every class is going to be based on 90% And that 10% is going to be made up by the school by project let's see what these classes are what they cover introduction to digital media which is A1 semester-long class students are introduced to Digital World basically they get to learn how all these computers to make it to people all these colors text voice things that we hear or see on a computer on any digital media how is built so basically we learn about ones and zeros color codes and I think about regard citizen digital citizenship basically means how we have to react when it comes to online presents when you go online how you have to react Online safety how to keep Children's Safe online booking information you should prepare provide what kind of information you should not provide online which side you should go to which logos or pictures or links you should or should not click on and that regard Cloud systems another part of this class basically very brief . We'll talk about cloud system cloud computing what that is Google Drive basically the whole paycheck is built on Google Drive everything we create received we share with other students and staff is on Google Drive which is a form of cloud computing system students will get to learn how to create a Google doc Google slide Google site Google Presentation how to do I organize files and folders a big part of this class also is presentation skills students by the time they graduate from the one semester they will have a minimum understanding of presentation PowerPoint slide rules basic techniques and skills that make it a very decent PowerPoint presentation students and unlock more courses I mean while students will have different questions that I'll do my best to answer and that is not covered in in the butt digital media one is becoming very popular did the concept of digital media is becoming very popular especially in in high school we basically talked about Cypress Beauty and its encryption how passwords work why we create passwords what are different types of encryption recover social media how to be active how to useful how to be safe on social media or what type of social media or beneficial to students what types are not a how or what kind of intention is behind them and things of that regard students learn how to design and develop their own web pages basically deal have by the time this lesson is over students will have their own web pages don't know how to create a website if they go to a source of that website that you get to see all the codes and everything is used to build that website they'll have some understanding of those causing tax to to some extent not very beginning not very professional but intermediate-level don't have an understanding of HTML web language HTML short for hypertext markup language which is the language of web page students will get to create their own blogs they'll learn what blogging is which is becoming very popular a lot of people make a lot of money. Doing blogging what kind of content to provide why and how you can content that is useful for your audience is it part of this class hexadecimal numbers are very crucial when it comes to color coding especially when you creating your own web page you have to understand these colors work if you're looking for a specific color or a shade you will get to manipulate these colors red green and blue colors and get you on a specific color number exist which is also a hexadecimal numbering system is extremely important and the rest of the year will learn how to create and manipulate and edit audio files with your files and photos using different UPS office so this should be plenty of information plenty of material for the whole year digital media 2 or Advanced Digital Media for high school May. but it's not going to be at that advanced but by the time students graduate from this class they'll have a intermediate understanding of the software's and and they'll be ready to to find a job at this and Robin and a star we'll discuss intellectual properties what that means the concept of interest of intellectual property laws that are in place to protect people from there in the properties are AA topic of this class digital marketing how we use digital media to Market a product which is extremely big and important in today's market color theory students will know what's behind the psychology behind using specific colors how they are arranged as you can see in the circle this is color scheme and there are ways that you can pick the different types of colors that can work together and psychologically are appealing so that's the topic very interesting topic that students like storytelling comic strips boisterous will get to create their own stories and add some boys to it that's very popular and then all those easy but it's very popular and useful continue with digital media to probably by the end of the first semester will get to work with Adobe Creative Cloud which has extremely powerful software these are world-class up first and well-known large companies in in Hollywood in different countries that use the software for for editing photos movies professional musicians use the software graphic designers anime I'm using software these are extremely powerful software that will take probably entire year to cover and get some some understanding of how I do softeners work moving on rehab game Design One during this class we talked about the concept of game what is it game students get to create their own board game they have to design a game some rules how it is How It Ends how many people are supposed to play what are the rules how or if you win how many points you get how to get to the next level and things of that they create visual puzzles using these codes basically will be using code.org which is 8/8 and online game engine it's free for students and teachers have access to each student's work station so I can get to see exactly what students are working on I can give them feedback control them assist remote language we use for creating these games or is a basic JavaScript will have some understanding of building their own games that is as they believed to be played by other game design 2 by itself is very Advanced but during her high school is not going to be it in a very high level year with Microsoft make code software which is an engine for building a website for games it has different levels for beginners intermediate and advanced as we move forward I will get to use Unity or unreal game engine Reserve are extremely powerful game engines that are gamers not very professionally but in the intermediate level are Gamers created does the software is an engine to create their games students get to create their own 3D designs they learn the fundamentals of fundamental techniques of creating a game they use the soccer create animations they add sound to divide Scripps Scripps means in JavaScript and and c-sharp language to write games Enzo implemented things like finding information accomplishing goals things like that are part of these classes that concludes my presentation if I could stop fairing I hope this video was helpful for you have some idea what my class were all about you didn't seem to like these classes some students are a little skeptical that they may feel comfortable dealing with with a technical aspect of these classes but that's just the beginning and especially students were being away from school for almost two years.
