Manufacturing 2/Advanced Machining

Students will start with the basics of CNC machining and develop a thorough understanding of the theory behind and the importance of attaining a mastery of CNC machining skills. They will learn safe working habits when running CNC equipment, proper attire, housekeeping, tool holder handling and storage as well as machine and coolant maintenance. Blueprint reading, inspection, set up, calculating feeds and speeds, and tool path for different materials and cutting tools will be covered. Beginning with manual programming using G and M codes, students will eventually create CNC Lathe and Mill programs using Autodesk HSM Inventor.
