Graduation Requirements

To achieve a high school diploma, students need to demonstrate proficiency of state content standards in each subject are to earn the required 220 credits for graduation, and pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE).
 
North County Trade Tech High School Requirement:
English: 3 years (Grades 9 through 11 required, English 12 elective)
Math: 2 years including Algebra 1/Integrated Math 1
Social Studies: 3 Years (No SS in 9th grade)
Science: 2 Years including Lab Biology
Foreign Language/Fine Arts: 1 year
P.E/ Health: 2 Years 
Electives: Personal Finance Required, 10 units of construction and 10 units of engineering are required.
 
California State University (CSU) Admissions
English: 4 Years
Math: Algebra I, II, & Geometry 3 Years, Or Integrated Math 1, 2 and 3
Social Studies: 3 Years
Science: 2 Years including Lab Biology
Foreign Language: 2 Years Same Language
Visual & Performing Arts (dram, art, dance, music)
Electives: 1 Year College Prep
 
University of California (UC) Admissions
English: 4 Years
Math: Algebra I, II, & Geometry 3 Years, Or Integrated Math 1, 2 and 3
Social Studies: 3 Years
Science: 2 Years Lab Science including Lab Biology
Foreign Language: 2 Years
Visual & Performing Arts: Two Semesters approved courses in single art form
Electives: 1 Year U.C Approval
 
Notes:
  • Students will have the opportunity to earn an average of 80 credits per school year (40 credits per semester), with 5 credits awarded for each course completed per semester.
  • Course credit will be earned through a combination of class attendance, seminars, workshops, projects, and courses eligible for college credit, as well as dual enrollment with Palomar or MiraCosta Community Colleges.
