Introduction to Construction Tech

This one semester exploratory course allows freshmen students to learn about some of the basics of the world of Construction, with a mixture of classroom and hands-on learning.  

We will cover elements of safe work habits, tool knowledge, building design, and career exploration.  Students will have opportunities to practice various aspects of construction, such as framing, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, and stucco.

The main project students will work on in this introductory. class is what we call a “Project Box”.  This project, built individually,  represents a scaled-down section of a typical wall, and involves all the steps that a builder goes through when building a wall of a house.
