The Outdoor Club's mission is to have students gain an appreciation for outdoor recreational activities. In addition, members will also learn to respect what nature has to offer as well as how we can minimize our presence when in natural environments. This will be done by focusing on the seven "Leave no Trace" principles. Club members will enjoy various hikes and outings to different locations ranging from a rock climbing gym to Mt. Woodson.
8/31/18 We will have a quick meeting after school next Friday the 24th to explain what the outdoor club is about. The meeting will be held in Mr. Ibave's room at 3:05.Our first hike of the year will be on Friday, August 31st. Please have your permission slips turned in by then if you are interested in attending. You can turn in your permission slips to Mr. Ibave, Mr. Thiele, or Ms. Merry. Anyone is welcome! We will be leaving after school and hiking in the Calavera Preserve area. The hike is an easy one, but you still need to bring water, and some shoes with good traction.
9/19/18 So far, we've had a couple of short easy hikes. Elfin Forest was cut a bit short due to the heat, but it was still a good one. Next hike will be on 9/28 and we will be hiking up Double Peak in San Marcos.
